BACKGROUND
As a third-generation resident of North Kingstown, I have a deep love and understanding of this community. Both sets of my grandparents chose to raise their families here over 50 years ago, my parents followed in their footsteps, and now my husband and I are proudly raising our three children in my hometown.
This isn’t my first time stepping up for our town. I served on the Town Council from 2018 to 2020 (some may remember me as Stacey Elliott), and I’m running again to help lead the next chapter of the progress we’ve made together. North Kingstown’s family feel, beautiful beaches, and robust wooded areas make it a wonderful place to live and to visit, and it is important that these essential traits are preserved, while ensuring this remains a community where younger generations can afford to move in, the retired community can afford to stay, and businesses can flourish. That means not just keeping North Kingstown affordable, but spending responsibly, so the dollars we invest reach the people and priorities that need them.
Being an NK graduate myself, and now a mother with one child in the school system and two more on deck, I have a well-rounded appreciation of this town’s schools, and a personal stake in their future, from the safety of every student, teacher, and staff member to the resources our schools depend on. Professionally, I am the general manager of a manufacturing company, where I’m in charge of turning it around, and my husband and I own a small clothing company, 100% wool, made in New England, so I am sensitive to the needs of local businesses, and I will do everything in my power to encourage synergy between the business community and local government. I also serve as treasurer of the North Kingstown Free Library Board of Trustees.
The people of this community deserve a lively town and a council that truly represents the people it serves. I promise to listen with patience, kindness, understanding, and true concern to each and every member of this community, and to address all issues with transparency, care, and compassion, for the town that is my home too.
